Approach
I founded my Brighton based studio in 2024 and take on residential and boutique commercial design projects across London, Kent and Sussex. I can also work remotely with you on a consultancy or e-design basis, whether it’s transforming a single room or giving advice on colour, furniture, soft furnishings and fittings.
Through a collaborative design process, I will work closely with you to craft spaces that are both functional and beautiful, tailored to your vision. Thoughtful use of colour, textures, materials, and bespoke textiles ensures that each project reflects your unique personality and lifestyle.
As well as assessing the requirements and functions of your space, I can take your treasured decorative objects or art, and use them as a starting point for the design. I am committed to sourcing lasting key pieces of new, or vintage furniture, that reflect your personality and the scheme.
I aim to prioritise the use of local crafts and tradespeople, work with independent suppliers, use sustainable materials and repurpose items you already own, wherever possible.
About Maia
Maia’s formative years living in Finland deeply influenced her design philosophy, fostering a strong appreciation for simplicity, functionality, and connection to nature.
Maia is an experienced designer with a background in textile design. She initially ran her own woven textile business before moving into education.
After a career in art and design education, working as a lecturer and Head of Fashion at Kingston College, Maia returned to textile design and her love of interiors. She studied interior design at KLC School of Design, and gained her professional qualification in 2024.
Maia has a deep affinity for craft and the handmade. Handweaving skills have given her a unique insight into how the combination of colour and texture can evoke emotional responses.
Maia’s main focus is working with her clients to create environments that reflect how they want to live and feel in their space. Maia values the rich opportunity that collaboration brings and the creative potential it offers.
